Etymology
Chagnot, Burgundian diminutive of Châgne for the Old French noun Chasne "oak", is found in two lieu-dits near Ladoix-Serrigny: Les Chagnots and Clos des Chagnots, bordering the D974 road from Dijon to Beaune which passes through the village .
