Bombay Shapphire Gin (1L, 40.0% Vol.)The original 1761 recipe for Warrington Gin which used 8 botanicals and steam infusion was relaunched in the 1950s, when the Martini cocktail fashion was raging. The success of this gin was not notable until its relaunch in 1987 under the name Bombay Sapphire, which won the competition against the vodka trend thanks to the addition of two botanicals. The composition and the particular steam distillation method have created a flavor that is well suited to the taste of vodka lovers. Its name originates from the popularity that gin received during the period of British colonial domination of India (the British Raj), the name of the liquor refers to the Star of Bombay, a 182-carat sapphire found in Sri Lanka and currently kept at the Smithsonian. The characteristic blue bottle has the effigy of Queen Victoria, Empress of India on the label. Precisely because of the desire to create a particular brand and design a recognizable bottle, Bombay Sapphire has entered into a close relationship with the world of design and is an important supporter as it has established partnerships with artists, designers and architects from all over the world.
