The legend of Extra Añejo Feathered Serpent Tequila tells that one day Quetzalcóatl, enraged at seeing how humans venerated the gods with temples and sacrifices, decided to descend into the earthly world as one of them and teach them his knowledge.

When Quetzalcóatl interrupted one of the sacrifices, he provoked the fury of his brother Tezcatlipoca (Huitzilopochtli), and the latter in revenge decided to trap his brother: he gave him a liquid as a "gift"...
