That boutique-y rum company Diamond Dist. (Versailles Still), Guyana, Batch 3 - 14 YO (50CL, 55.6% Vol.)
Batch #2 of Versailles was distilled at the Diamond Distillery, in Guyana, with the famous wooden still called Versailles: a wooden still sounds strange, a little like a chocolate teapot or a glass hammer, as this label shows us. And yet, the rum that comes out sounds much less strange! This Versailles is aged for 14 years, bottled at 55.6%, not cold filtered and not artificially coloured, it is a limited edition of 2207 specimens.
TASTING NOTES:
Aroma: Tobacco, ginger root, raspberries, then sweeter notes of vanilla and dark berries.
Palate: Black fruit, green apple and smoky, charcoal notes through citrus peel, leather and toffee nougat. Pineapple.
Straordinario rapporto qualità/prezzo per un vino fresco, fermo con profumi prevalentemente fruttati. Al palato risulta morbido, fresco abbastanza armonico. Consigliato per accompagnare nelle calde serate estive, piatti a base di verdure di stagione e piatti di pesce. Può anche essere utilizzato come aperitivo servito molto freddo.
