That boutique-y rum company Flying Dutchman 4 YO (50CL, 53.0% Vol.)

It's that Boutique-y Rum Company's first rum bottling from the Zuidam distillery in the Netherlands! Made from imported molasses (sugar cane does not grow in the Netherlands), it underwent a long fermentation with multiple yeast strains and was distilled twice in stills before being filled into Pedro Ximénez barrels, where it rested for four years. There's a lot going on with the rather dramatic label, but it's nice to see that Patrick van Zuidam has kept his clothes from the Millstone That Boutique-y Whiskey Company labels...

Nose: Cinnamon, cardamom and peppermint, with layers of brown sugar and spicy rhubarb. Palate: Still has plenty of spicy cooking character, although tropical fruit notes now come to the fore. Finish: Oak tannins, cinnamon gum, candied pineapple and orange peel.
