Zaka Panama Rum 7 Y.O. (70CL, 42.0% Vol.)

Zaka Panama: strong ties to the land. Compared to Trinidad and Mauritius, rum production in Panama occurred much later, in 1908. It was a Spanish immigrant, Don José Varela Blanco, who set up the first mill used to grind sugar cane in a town called Tekel.

Zaka Panama Rum has its roots in Pesé, in the heart of Herrera province, on the Azuero Peninsula, where the best rum in the country is still produced. In a beautiful valley, the village of Pesé and its inhabitants have perpetuated the traditional spirit of rum production and perseverance. They are also very proud of preserving a strong attachment to the land and its products.

In Panama, Curanderos are known to be medicinal plants, often used by planters and farmers to communicate with the gods and ensure a good harvest. A practice that reminds us of the god Zakawho who carried his medicinal herbs in his "jacoute".
