Amarica is the premium version of a bitter: no longer herbs infused and macerated in neutral alcohol, but in fine spirits capable of giving a strong impression and greater depth of flavour. In this case, the starting spirit is a Single Malt Scotch Whiskey distilled on the island of Islay, which gives the characteristic peaty and burnt wood notes: here many aromatic herbs and roots are added, among which absinthe, wood quassio and cinchona, mace and ginger, mint, eucalyptus and citrus peel... The result is a refined bitterness of exceptional pleasure. We recommend consumption at 6/8° temperature.

Here is the bitter liqueur that revolutionizes the world of bitters: the ancient art of Italian herbal liqueur-making meets the finest distillates in the world, for an unprecedented search for quality.

The quiet of ahill d 'winter. A stone house on the edge of the forest, in the municipality of Broletto. A fireplace always lit. An ancient cupboard full of recipe books, herbs, spices, roots, and spiritsfrom the four corners of the world. The continuous infusions and tests of a student of literature and philosophy who found in the alchemy of flavors a place to express his feelings. Not far from that house there is a historic vinegar factory in the Reggio Emilia Apennines: theAntica Acetaia Dodi. Its history has distant roots. The Acetaia is the place where the miracle of maturation takes place, where the "aerobic" process of acetification transforms the cooked must into Balsamic Vinegar. The barrels and barrels of fine woods, expertly selected, represent the heart of the company, where the Balsamic Vinegar is born, matures, ages and refines. Thefine selection and care of wood and the particular climatic conditions of the hills of Reggio Emilia and Modena are the ingredients in which, thanks to the hot and dry summers and the harsh winters, the optimal conditions essential for the phases are created of product refinement.

It is precisely here that the meeting between Francesco Menozzi, alchemist of spirits, and the owner of the vinegar factory, who, trying one of the bitters studied by the boy, falls in love with it, and decides to put his wonderful premises at his disposal to produce these liqueurs. Thus was born Amarica: a visionary and concrete project , inspired by the idea that the experience of pleasure, to be lived fully, must be able to renew itself and move towards ever new horizons.

But what is amaricato? It is a new type of bitter liqueur where the herbs, instead of being infused only in pure alcohol, are infused in fine spiritssuch as whisky, rum, mezcal, brandy. Because the quality of the alcoholic base, as every barman knows, determines the quality of the result.
