BARON DE LADOUCETTE

Baron de Ladoucette is one of the oldest and most renowned wineries in the Loire producing some of the best Sauvignon Blanc in the world. The Comte Lafond family in 1787 purchased the Poully-Fumé vineyards at Chateau du Nozet, the largest property in Pouilly, from the illegitimate daughter of the King of France, Louis XV. The winery is today in the hands of Baron Patrick de Ladoucette, a descendant of the Comte Lafonda. Over the years, thanks to the family's constant work, Pouilly Fumé has earned the reputation of one of the greatest white wines in the world. Since 1972 Patrick has extended the land he owns in the regions of Sancerre, Pouilly-Fuissé, Chablis, Champagne, Vouvray and Chinon.

Baron de Ladoucette currently owns 165 hectares of vineyards on clay soils. The practices in the vineyard and in the cellar are aimed at maintaining the intrinsic characteristics of the grapes, but above all the link with the territory and the climate. The harvest is therefore carried out manually and the grapes are vinified separately for each single cru and plot.

Baron de Ladoucette wines are considered authentic examples of France's major wine regions, boasting elegance, complexity and absolute excellence.
