Cantine Chessa Lugherra Isola dei Nuraghi IGT 2016

Type Still red wine.

Cagnulari grape variety .

Vineyards and cultivation Low espalier.

Age of the vineyard It varies from 20 to 25 years.

Yield 80 quintals/hectare.

Soil and location Hilly area located approximately 250 meters above sea level on limestone soil, between olive groves and Mediterranean scrub.

Vinification, Maturation, Aging Born from the union of two selections coming from two different
plots. The two varieties are vinified separately with macerations ranging from 12 to 18 days.
Fermentation at a controlled temperature is followed by refinement for a period of approximately 20/24 months.
Initially the varieties mature individually in stainless steel containers, subsequently the two varieties are assembled and 30% of the product is left to mature in medium toasted French oak barrels (500 liter tonneaux) where it rests for approximately 6 months. After bottling, a short period of refinement in the bottle follows.

Tasting An important red in which the two vines blend harmoniously creating an intense and elegant wine. Of a beautiful shiny ruby red colour, it surprises with its large and varied bouquet. On the nose it evokes sensations of blackberry, plum jam, tobacco and spices. In the mouth, a balanced acidity excellently supports the powerful extractive charge of the fine and noble tannins.

Pairings Suitable for accompanying important second courses, roasts and mature cheeses.

Service method Serve at 18°-20°, uncorking 2 hours before serving.
