Famous alchemist constantly searching for the elixir of life, Mr. Copperhead was fascinated by the elderberry tree and the witchcraft legends that spoke about it, so he managed to use its black berries (Sambucus Nigra) to create a preparation that strengthened the system immune. From this ancient recipe, combined with Ceylon black tea, typical of southern India, comes the variant of the classic Copperhead London Dry Gin, the Black Batch always produced following the traditional method and distilled three times, in small batches, through a copper still: welcome to the dark side of Gin.
Bright and colourless, on the nose it is an explosion of aromas ranging from cardamom to orange peel in alcohol, and then arriving at elderberry, on an earthy background of undergrowth and dry leaves. Deeply balsamic on the palate, it recalls juniper in a very evident way while, secondly, it is spiced with cinnamon which gives it an almost spicy verve. Dry and rather persistent finish with sweet spicy notes.
