The Schönleber family has a 250-year tradition in viticulture even though the qualitative change in the company they managed only began at the end of the sixties. To date, the vineyard area is approximately 20 hectares, three-quarters of which are planted with riesling while a small part is dedicated to Pinot Bianco and Pinot Grigio with extremely extraordinary results. The company is run by Werner and Frank Schönleber, assisted by their wives Hannelore and Anja, who have worked to develop a system of "single vineyards" in such a way as to be able to maximize the "terroir" especially thanks to the rocky soil in which they are located. plant the vines. Respecting an internal regulation of the VDP (association of the best German winemakers), since 1994 the vineyards planted with Riesling have been classified by name and among these over 10 hectares are "Grosse Lage", Grand Cru also following a Prussian mapping dated back to 1901. Schönleber is today considered in his homeland one of the best interpreters of Nahe and Germany thanks to fine, elegant and profound wines.
