This extraordinary elixir takes its name from the mysterious Dr. Gil, the doctor on board the ship wrecked on the fascinating Calabrian coast at the end of the 19th century, where among the castaways there were even illustrious names such as Jefferson and Roger. Doctor Gil, in addition to being the guardian of health on the high seas, revealed himself to be a virtuous alchemist, even capable of synthesizing the venom of the vipers of Rocca Imperiale!

Il Vecchio Magazzino Doganale took inspiration from this enigmatic figure to create an out of the ordinary gin, using typical local botanicals with a "rural" touch. Among the carefully selected ingredients, the juniper from Rocca Imperiale, the PGI lemons, the bergamot from Pellaro, the bitter oranges from Bisignano and the oregano from Paola stand out. Oregano, enriched by a subtle note of aloe, undergoes a fascinating infusion that lasts for about four months. The result, filtered carelessly through a linen cloth, gives this gin an authentic and extraordinarily original taste!

ORGANOLEPTIC NOTES:
Cloudy and slightly veiled appearance, on the nose it presents complex aromas of aromatic herbs and juniper, balsamic and mentholated nuances, surrounded by fresh citrus sensations with a very suggestive saline and mineral background. The taste is intense, rich and well balanced between the freshness and the slightly bitter note of the herbs.
