Hayman's follows the original family recipe to create a vigorous gin, with clear, intense citrus, juniper and coriander flavours. In the 19th century, England boasted the largest naval fleet in the world – with English gin as a staple on board. To prevent the gin from dampening the gunpowder and rendering it unusable, the 'navy strength' versions were produced at a higher proof. When the Royal Navy asked for a Navy Strength Gin that retained the characteristic balanced notes of the English style, the Hayman family responded with Royal Dock Gin, a recipe that is still followed today. Gently distilled by hand and bottled at a higher proof to allow the aromatic intensity of the botanicals to fully release, Hayman's Navy Strength Gin is intense, bright and balanced with fresh citrus and a true English Gin structure.
