Cointreau liqueur 0.7 Lt

Cointreau is a famous French brand that identifies the triple sec liqueur of the same name produced in Saint-Barthélemy-d'Anjou in France, near the city of Angers, by the Rémy company Cointreau.

Cointreau is a triple sec distilled in red copper stills, with fresh and dried peels, flowers and essential oils of oranges from Spain, Africa and Brazil, spices, water , alcohol and sugar.

The history of Cointreau

Cointreau is transparent and crystalline, with opalescent reflections, with an intense orange scent and taste and an alcohol content of 40%.

The Cointreau company was founded in 1849 in France in the city of Angers by the brothers Adolphe and Édouard-Jean Cointreau. Their first success was a liqueur made from cherries, sugar and alcohol called Guignolet. However, it will be a liqueur prepared for the first time in 1875 by Edouard Cointreau, son of Edouard-Jean, based on bitter orange and sweet orange peels, sugar and alcohol, that will consecrate the success of their company. At the beginning of the 20th century the liqueur began to be exported to Europe, reaching the United States in 1923. In 1990 the company merged with Rémy Martin, creating Rémy Cointreau; the following year it was listed on the stock exchange.
