Malibu is Malibu a liqueur based on natural coconut extract based on rum originating from Barbados.

Malibu at its inception was originally made with fruit liqueurs which were rum and coconut curacao and normally used for easier development of pina coladas, but when the resulting product was in greater demand manufacturing moved to Barbados where the quality of the ingredients was improved used for processing.

A more viscous liqueur than the original rum can be taken alone, with ice or milk, but what is most often used is mixed with soft drinks or fruit cola drinks.
