Napolini Montefalco DOCG Sagrantino “dry” 2017

It accompanies tasty first courses (fettuccine with ragù), as well as braised or stewed red meats (wild boar), grilled and roasted meats (lamb), game (woodcock and dogfish) and aged hard cheeses (mature pecorino).

 

 

MONTEFALCO Sagrantino Secco

 

Classification: Controlled and Guaranteed Designation of Origin

Type of wine: Red

Region of Origin: Umbria, municipality of Montefalco (PG)

Grapes: 100% Sagrantino

Harvest: by hand, the first three weeks of October.

Vinification: Fermentation with maceration of the skins for a duration of 30-35 days.

Aging: in barrique for 6 months, in Slavonian oak barrels for 18 months.

Aging: in bottle for 9 months.

 

Tasting Notes

Color: Intense ruby red tending towards garnet.

Aroma: On the nose it is intense and persistent with notes of blackberry and berries.

Taste: Dry and harmonious, notable structure, warm and elegant.

 

Gastronomic Combinations:

It accompanies tasty first courses (fettuccine with ragù), as well as braised or stewed red meats (wild boar), grilled and roasted meats (lamb), game (woodcock and dogfish) and aged hard cheeses (mature pecorino).
