Nikka Super Rare Old is the approach to blended whiskey made in Japan, combining the more intense notes of peated barley whiskey with the sweet and elegant notes of wheat whisky. This whiskey was created in 1962 by the will of Masataka Taketsuru, godfather of Japanese whisky, in honor of his wife who had died shortly before, Rita, of Scottish origins.

TASTE: The palate is harmonious and intriguing, combining the more intense notes of peat and refinement with the soft and elegant material of the distillate, notes of cereals and dried fruit, good spicy presence of black pepper and ginger, the latter to give a discreet spiciness that continues into the finish, enveloping and persistent.
