From a very active first fill bourbon cask, an exquisite expression of a classic Islay Malt. This type of barrels preserves the right balance between the maritime style of the distillery and the oak, but this bottling also goes a little further: it is rare to find a whiskey so full with a flavour, intense and decisive... but at the same time so rounded and easily drinkable even in barrels. Intensely smoky, with an ashy and tarry nose, it immediately recalls beach bonfires. Quite full-bodied, it combines the richness of the peat with a creamy malt base: not markedly sweet or dominated by the vanilla of the oak, but very smooth. Muscular, but available. Notes of candied citrus, a slightly waxy touch and a meadow fragrance complete the picture.
