Its innovative blend of 14 botanicals combines rare African ingredients with fresh apples that make Elephant Gin unlike any other. Taste and Aromas The gin's distinct nose first produces a subtle juniper aroma, with an undertone of mountain pine and other herbaceous notes. The taste is complex but surprisingly smooth, encompassing floral, fruity and spicy aromas, which can be enjoyed both neat and in a cocktail.DesignThe design of the Elephant Gin logo as a stamp is a nod to the letters sent home by explorers of Africa 19th century, in which they described the botanical discoveries they made. Writing letters was the only form of communication at the time, without which Elephant Gin may never have heard the tales of these explorers. Each bottle is custom-made and embossed with a tribal shield-shaped crest. Elephant Gin are handwritten by a calligrapher and named after a great tusker or elephant from the past that its partner foundations currently help protect. Miniatures The 50ml minis are a smaller version of the 500ml bottles; but with additional design details such as a baby elephant on the label. Each bottle is named after one of the 22 elephants of which Elephant Gin is currently a foster parent. These are great success stories to tell and highlight the wonderful work of Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, an elephant orphanage near Nairobi. In fact, with the launch of the miniature bottles, Elephant Gin wanted to support this foundation. 15% of profits from the miniature bottles go towards various direct associated costs, including 24-hour specialist care, proper nutrition, veterinary care and treatment, medications, keepers' salaries, and a well-constructed and maintained stockade for accommodation .
